DPE's Intervention

For analysing opportunities and potential for DPE’s intervention in the political and socio-economic environment, more focus was put on looking into main challenges which are facing Lesotho as depicted in the vision 2020, Poverty Reduction Strategy, Strategies for scaling up the National response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Lesotho and the newly elected Local government councils. DPE intervenes in this way:

Food security takes priority number one and two as illustrated under Vision 2020, the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) as well as National Agricultural Sector Strategy in Lesotho, the Lesotho National Food Security Policy and Strategic Guidelines in particular, emphasize the importance of better food security as a development goal for Lesotho.
